Green Wicket

To create awareness for the Green Wicket messages on water, hygiene & sanitation, energy conservation, biodiversity and waste management we have to go beyond the cricket fans and reach the general public, especially our children. Children are agents of change that soak up knowledge, and multiply it by giving it back to their families and community. Therefore, the ‘Green Wicket’ Campaign has developed the Green Wicket Activity Book. The activity book combines education on water, sanitation, hygiene, energy, biodiversity and waste management with activities that enable playful learning. It is the result of the joint effort of the Government of Karnataka, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) and Pollinate Energy in order to support the ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’ of the Government of India. The booklet now is piloted in 150 schools in Karnataka, to be evaluated before further dissemination across India. The various activities of the booklet are also available for download at http://www.susana.org/en/resources/school-activities.
